European Motorcycle Training Quality Label

Voluntary post-license driver training is vital, since it allows riders to increase their safety awareness, as well as enhance their hazard perception skills. It is not always easy for motorcyclists to choose between the thousands of training schemes available. To address this challenge, ACEM and DVR have joined forces to start promoting high-quality, post-license training schemes across the European Union through the European Motorcycle Training Quality Label. In 2018 the FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) started to support the European Motorcycle Training Quality Label.

The European Motorcycle Training Quality Label is a label that helps riders to clearly and easily identify high-quality programmes. It is clear that the improvement of road traffic safety is the main objective of the course offered. Furthermore, the seal ensures that the training is a legit one and that modern methods of adult education are being applied. In order to be awarded the European Training Quality Label, training programmes undergo individual scrutiny. The analysis is carried out in an open and transparent manner by independent experts.

Quality criteria include training contents, training methodology, trainer qualification and quality assurance of the entire programme. In addition, all programmes are under close scrutiny on site, if requested by the applicant.
